As-Salaamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Ta'ala Wabarakatuhu.
I know that we've reached the last ten nights of Ramadan. And we indeed ask Allah to accept all of our fasting, our praying, and especially our acts of charity.
For the next few minutes I wanted to focus on this idea of giving charity in the last ten nights. And what basically we're saying is that I'm sure by now you're overwhelmed by the number of requests,
by email, by forwards on WhatsApp, on Twitter, on Instagram, on every possible social media platform to give. And that's clearly been the tradition throughout Ramadan.
And so as the non-profit organizations who are looking for your funds, they're going to be very much interested in getting your attention in these last few nights.
What we're saying is that the Prophet ﷺ was very much charitable not only in Ramadan, he began in Shaban actually.
And he was more, Aisha radiAllahu ta'ala Anha said that he didn't fast more or give more charity in any other month outside of Ramadan except in Shaban.
So in Ramadan obviously we want to get the blessings from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. We want to be able to make the most of that special feeling of Ramadan and also as I mentioned the blessings.
So in the last ten nights what we recommend is that you actually select, choose very specifically a charity for each of the nights.
If you can and you're able to think about it, you may specialize in a particular issue. If you like education for example, look at the different institutions that are working on education.
If you like to do or support relief for example and within relief even consider particular aspects of relief.
Whether it's orphan care or hunger alleviation, be very intentional, very deliberate.
Make a choice and then either give something on each night or in particular give to different causes on each night. And that's how we suggest that you could close out Ramadan.
Again the goal is to give as much as possible within your capacity but to constantly make dua to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Indeed that he accepts what we're doing, that he accepts our charity, our prayers and indeed all of our acts of ibadah during this blessed month.
We wish you an early Eid Mubarak and indeed if you can select yaqeeninstitute.org for your charitable donation. Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh.
