Lifespan Experiences of Muslim Converts Survey (LEMC)
Overview
This report is based on data collected from the Lifespan Experiences of Muslim Converts survey (LEMC). The LEMC is a cross-sectional study of Muslims in America administered from December 2020 to February 2021 by Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. The LEMC study collected data on childhood religious experiences, parental attachments, childhood traumas, conversion process to Islam, Islamic beliefs and practices, marital satisfaction, and several variables on mental health. A non-probability convenience sampling approach was used by utilizing channels on websites and social media. The sample size collected for this project is 618 users.
