“What is our purpose?” Everyone wonders about the answer to this question. Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair joins Dr. Omar Suleiman and Sh. Abdullah Oduro to reflect on the vast blessings of Allah and the purpose behind creation, drawing from Surah an-Nahl, also known as the surah of blessings.

She explores how to recognize both the blessings we see and those we may be unaware of.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala hasn't just created us; He is intimately aware. His creation is with His mercy and with His care, and so He doesn't just give us what we need for our bodies, but He also gives us what
we need for our souls. The manufacturer always knows the product better than anybody else, right? And we pass judgments on the Creator because of our limitations of understanding the creation. It's important that Muslims always recognize that everything that I'm facing, Allah
has created it, but He's also given me the remedy. And what will cause me to rush towards the remedy is my consistent connection with Him.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته everyone. Welcome back to Quran 30 for 30. الحمد لله رب العالمين, we are in Juz 14 now. We want to remind you all, as you are right dead center in the Ramadan dip to keep up with Quran 30 for 30, keep up with the Ramadan
series, keep up with all of these things, إن شاء الله تعالى, that can help you pace yourself so that you don't get lost in the middle. This is a time to shine بإذن الله تعالى and to really stand out with your connection to Allah عز وجل. I know that a lot of people are probably slipping
as well with their Quran recitation, with their wird, and they're thinking, "I'll just catch up in the last 10 nights." This is your chance, in sha' Allah Ta'ala, to really, really stand out bi-idhnillahi Ta'ala, where so many people will fall off. So may Allah Azza wa Jalla give you all firmness and steadfastness in your Ramadan
bi-idhnillahi Ta'ala. Alhamdulillah, we're honored to have for the first time, in sha' Allah Ta'ala, and bi-idhni Llah Ta'ala, not the last time, Shaykha Taimiyyah Zubair on Quran 30 for 30. Welcome to Quran 30 for 30. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala bless you and reward you
for the great work that you do. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin, everyone in my family has benefited from you tremendously. The work at Al-Huda School, the online Quran, you've actually published a word-for-word
translation, correct? Alhamdulillah. Can you talk a little bit about that, in sha' Allah Ta'ala, for the benefit of the viewers? جزاك الله خيرًا كثيرًا for having me. وَإِيَّاكِ. So Alhamdulillah, at Al-Huda we have the goal — our
intention is to get the Quran to as many people as possible and to make the Quran accessible to them. And so we begin with teaching the word-for-word or the phrase-by-phrase translation so that people are able to
connect directly with the text. And Masha'Allah, over the years I've seen people from such diverse backgrounds, Alhamdulillah, by the time they graduate, they're able to recite any portion of the Quran or listen to any portion of the Quran. And الحمد لله,
they're able to understand it. May Allah bless you and reward you and put barakah in your work and benefit people and allow them to come closer to the Quran through your work. اللهم آمين. Shaykha Taimiyyah, we ask our guests without telling
them in advance, what is your favorite name of Allah سبحانه وتعالى at this moment? At this moment, my favorite name would be Al-Halim, the Forbearing. When you witness everything that's happening
in the world, we act with such — like we get so vengeful and impulsive in our responses. But Allah عز وجل does not send
His punishment right away. And we hope that when we slip and we fall, Allah عز وجل shows us the same forbearance. جزاكم الله خيرًا. So الحمد لله
رب العالمين, in Juz 14, this is actually one of those ajza' that has some of the most prominent verses about Allah سبحانه وتعالى, about the Quran. And one of the most familiar verses, if not the most familiar verse, that you will hear in Khutbat
al-Jumu'ah. In Juz 13, Allah عز وجل mentions He's Khayr al-Hafizin, and Allah عز وجل mentions Himself being the guardian. And He kind of spoke about how Allah سبحانه وتعالى guarded the dream of Yusuf (عليه السلام), guarded the offspring of Ibrahim (عليه السلام) in the
sense that, you know, they were preserved in and of themselves throughout the plots of their enemies. And obviously, in both of their cases, the enemies were family, right? The father of Ibrahim (عليه السلام), the brothers of Yusuf (عليه السلام), Allah Azza wa Jalla
preserved them through all of these plots. But He also preserved their dreams, and He preserved their efforts and gave more fruit to them than they would have ever imagined. But Allah Azza wa Jalla preserves something else.
And in this Juz, you have Surah Al-Hijr going into Surah An-Nahl. And Allah Azza wa Jalla says in verse 9 of Surah Al-Hijr [Al-Hijr 15:9], إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ. That indeed we have sent down the
Quran, the reminder. He calls it al-dhikr, and surely we will preserve it. So the promise to preserve the message itself, the promise to preserve the Quran. And SubhanAllah, you think about all the prophecies that the Prophet
(ﷺ) put forward, and also what Allah Azza wa Jalla put forward in terms of Surah Ar-Rum, right? For example, where Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions فِي بِضْعِ سِنِينَ that within three to nine years, this whole political calculus is going to change. And that was
something that was mocked by the people of Mecca at the time as impossible. But Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala made it happen. And you think about the promise that we're now, you know, almost 1,500 years into this
promise, that this word is going to be preserved in a way that no word has ever been preserved. And the preservation is through word-for-word teaching of the Quran. The preservation is through the qira'at
being taught throughout the entire world, people that don't even speak Arabic being able to recite in all 10 qira'at, you know, people that memorize it throughout the entire earth, SubhanAllah, in the most obscure of places. And this is Allah Subhanahu wa
Ta'ala's promise of hifz, even back then, right? When you think about the tools that were available to preserve. You know, it was in the house of Hafsa (رضي الله عنها) in terms of the written format of the Quran,
the bones, the skins. And Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala brings that all together, but it was preserved in the hearts before it was preserved in anything else. And through that, Allah Azza wa Jalla declares Himself as the ultimate
guardian, right? The ultimate guardian of His word. And this is the only revelation, obviously, that has guaranteed divine protection forever. So that's one way of connecting to the previous juz. Also, one of my favorite verses
in the Quran, and it fits the Ramadan series of the names of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ. Inform my servants that I am indeed the Forgiving, the Merciful. So the first thing
is that Allah Azza wa Jalla — it's very similar to وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ when they come to you asking you about Me, then I'm close to them. Allah Azza wa Jalla is closing the gap. And the gap is in du'a, and the gap is also in this idea
of inaccessibility because of sin, which is very much so related to what you mentioned about Al-Halim. And Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says, وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ. And that My punishment is indeed a painful punishment. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala identifies Himself only by forgiveness
and mercy, but He also pairs that mercy with accountability. And so He says that there is punishment, and it's a painful punishment, but He doesn't call Himself the Punisher, right? And that in and of itself is an incredible
way that He introduces Himself to us through this Juz. And of course, what He commands as well. So it's how He identifies Himself. And one of the ways that you know the Rabb, that you know the Lord, as the scholars
mention, is by what He commands you to do. That is also one of the ways that we actually understand Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So the whole Quran is amr. The whole Quran is a command. But when Allah says, إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ there's emphasis here.
What does Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala command? What are the timeless principles that He commands? The verse that you hear
pretty much in every khutbah. Indeed, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala commands justice, excellence, and generosity to relatives, and He forbids immorality, wrongdoing, and transgression.
He instructs you so that you may be people of taqwa. This verse is, in and of itself, an episode. If we were to unpack the verse and what every word means, it's an extremely rich verse. But Allah
Azza wa Jalla introduces Himself as well as a moral legislator that is giving these timeless ethics. The Quran is a timeless book of revelation. And you just think about these timeless ethics. Like if you were to take
every one of these words and what they command in every society, it could fit any constitution. It could fit the foundation of any society. And at the end of the day, it lays the foundation of God-consciousness being connected to human excellence as well. So taqwa, to ihsan,
human consciousness, human ethics, they're all reflected here. And then finally, إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَّالَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ. And this is very, very specific to the believers. Allah commands you with taqwa. He
commands you with ihsan. But Allah Azza wa Jalla says also later on in Surah An-Nahl, verily, Allah is with those who have taqwa. And Allah is with those who are muhsinun. So Allah is with the people of justice
and beauty and excellence. So as you mirror those names, as you mirror those ethics in society, you ensure that Allah Azza wa Jalla is pleased with you and that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is with you. So this is a high-level overview of the juz' of how Allah Azza
wa Jalla speaks of Himself. So Shaykha Abdullah would love to hear your thoughts bi-idhnillahi Ta'ala. بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ. Yeah, it's beautiful. I like how you, you know, you touched on aspects of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala's actions, and
particularly that of how you mentioned the consciousness of God and human excellence, right? We know that Al-Kamal lillah, the perfection is for Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala only. And it is just for the individual
to strive for excellence. And that's ihsan. It is not perfection. And it's really important to understand it as a Muslim because the effort that you make, the jihad an-nafs that you make internally, the actions that you do, whether you make a mistake and you learn from it, نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي
أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ is that Allah is Al-Ghafur Al-Rahim, that He is merciful, and forgiveness is a manifestation, an aspect of His mercy. I always like to take a step back and just look at the Deen for what it is, right? Because, you know,
I was — a sister was telling me the other day as well how, you know, they say, look, it's just her suffering from her relatives that they just say, you know, Fridays, we just pray Fridays, and that's good, that you're good if you do that. I'm like, okay, whose standards
are we following? Whose rules, whose regulations, whose guidelines? I like to say the Sharia has guidelines with objectives, that they're qawa'id, but they have maqasid, yani we see these guidelines of the Sharia, the Deen of Islam. It's Friday, but there's also every
other day of the week. And then with every day, there's five times within the year. There's Ramadan within a lifetime. There's Hajj. There's so many opportunities for you to strive for excellence. And that's a lifetime journey.
And that's why when we look at the Deen of Islam, it is so profound, just the blueprint of it, the way that Al-'Alim, Al-Hakim, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise, has structured it for the human being that
inherently — or the human being that is prone to make mistakes and falls short within the process of living. So when looking at Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, it says, يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ He orders you to be just because there may be times — there will be times where you will not be
just, just to your own self before anyone else. And that's why you go back to Al-Ghafur Al-Rahim, you know, that when I make that mistake, there's a system for me to be alone with Allah. As a matter of fact, it's impermissible for me to even communicate with
bashar, with any form of creation, five times a day to focus. And just when you look at the Sharia, SubhanAllah, you look at the Deen of Islam, the system, even Sharia in and of itself means a replenishing system that is there to replenish the soul. The more that you
implement it, the more that you strive, it nourishes the soul. But if the person doesn't make that attempt, if they don't sacrifice their time, their efforts, their emotions, then you won't taste that sweetness of iman.
So those are some thoughts, Masha'Allah. May Allah make it easy upon all of us. Ameen. Ustadha Taimiyyah, if you have any thoughts on the overall juz' bi-idhnillahi Ta'ala before we get into the specific ayah that we're going to ask you
about bi-idhnillahi Ta'ala? Whenever I think about Surah An-Nahl, I think about how Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions so many blessings in that surah. It's called Surah An-Ni'am, the surah of blessings. That just makes us feel like, yes, we are cared for. And it shows
to us Allah سبحانه وتعالى's vast mercy. And if we remember that, then, yes, when we slip, we turn back to Him. But then there is a beautiful balance that we don't take that for granted and think that whatever
we do, it'll be okay. Because Allah سبحانه وتعالى puts that fear as well in us, but He also gives us hope. So that hope and fear, that balance should always be there.
So, Shaykha Taimiyyah, if you think about the way that Allah عز وجل is talking about the creation and the purpose of creation, like An-Nahl being this key, right? The bee and all the blessings that come from the bee. And if you're a simple human being,
like, you know, I get asked this question by my kids all the time, "What's the purpose of this? What's the purpose of that?" You know, and my 12-year-old challenged me, like, "Why did — why do we have cockroaches?" So I kind of look up like the science of like how everything exists in the ecosystem and how there's
a ni'mah to everything. There's a blessing to everything that we just can't see. There's this particular verse where Allah سبحانه وتعالى mentions that the creation of the heavens and the earth is with purpose. And He tells us particularly, إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ. I mean,
this is the only time in the Quran this name is mentioned, Al-Khallaq, right? The consistent creator, and the All-Knowing. So how does this relate to the Juz?
How does this relate to the surah? And how does it relate to the concept of purpose in creation? The names of Allah, Al-Khallaq, Al-'Alim, together, are mentioned in Surah Al-Hijr and also,
I believe, Surah Ya-Sin, uh, both in the context of — you know, the names are presented as evidence for resurrection, that Allah Azza wa Jalla is the supreme creator. He's able to create
again and again. And He also knows how to create and also how to resurrect. But when you look at the surah, Surah Al-Hijr, where these names are mentioned and the broader context of these
verses, we see that Allah Azza wa Jalla is not just the creator, but the one who creates from nothing, the one who designs with wisdom,
and also with proportion and balance. And He creates whatever He wills. He originates the creation, and He repeats it. And He creates in so much abundance that there is no way we
could count the 'adad al-khalqi, the number of creatures that He has created. And He pairs this name with Al-'Alim, the one who knows, which shows that He not only knows how to create, but that He knows
His creation as well, what they feel, where they go, what they do, what they hide, what they intend, and when they die, where their bodies end up. And then He also knows how to resurrect
them. So He is the knowing Creator who is expert, who creates with mercy. And we see this in the beginning of Surah Al-Hijr, where Allah
Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions the fact that He has created the skies, but He hasn't just created the sky, but that He has also beautified it. وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ. So you can see the mercy of
Allah over here, the care that He has for His slaves, that He doesn't just create, but He creates with beauty. He mentions that وَحَفِظْنَاهَا that we have also guarded the sky. So He doesn't just create and abandon, but He also protects His creation. And then we
see Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions how He has created the earth and placed within it every well-balanced thing. So there is balance in the creation that Allah has created. There is wisdom in how Allah Subhanahu
wa Ta'ala sends sustenance for His creation. And then there is care and mercy in providing for all of our needs. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions how He sends the wind, the fertilizing winds. And then He also mentions how
He created the human being, not just created the human being, but also honored the human being, mm-hmm, by telling the angels to prostrate to Adam (عليه السلام). And then we see Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, He
creates whatever He wants whenever He wants, and He is capable. In this same surah, the story of Ibrahim (عليه السلام) is mentioned, where the angels come to him and give him the good news of the birth
of a knowledgeable boy. And Ibrahim (عليه السلام)'s response is that, "What kind of good news are you giving me at this old age of mine?" So the angels say to him that, "Do not be of those who despair."
So Allah Azza wa Jalla, He is capable of creating whatever He wants whenever He wants. So never, ever despair. And then we also see that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala creates with purpose because 'abath,
frivolity, is not of the actions of Allah. Whatever He creates, He creates bil-haqq for a reason. And that teaches us that whatever we do, any endeavor that we take on in life,
any action that we do, big or small, there must be some beneficial purpose behind that. And then one last thing I wanted to mention is that in this surah, we see that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, because He is Al-Khallaq, He's the one
who has created us, and He's also Al-'Alim, He knows us better than we know ourselves. And so He has provided for us not
just these material blessings that are mentioned throughout the surah and also in Surah An-Nahl, but also the spiritual blessings that we are in greater need of. So right after this ayah where Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
mentions His names, Al-Khallaq, Al-'Alim, He tells us that He tells His messenger (ﷺ) that وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ, that certainly we have given you the seven
oft-repeated verses. And this refers to Surah Al-Fatihah. And Surah Al-Fatihah is shifa'. It is healing. It is a du'a, you know, the most important du'a for guidance. It contains shukr,
gratitude, hamd, the praise of Allah. And this is a gift from Allah Azza wa Jalla. And also He mentions the Quran that He has given us. He knows what we go through. So towards
the end of the surah, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions that certainly we know that your chest is constricted because of what people say. And yes, the kind of things that people say, they do bother us. But Allah Subhanahu
wa Ta'ala, you know, He mentions here that we know what you feel. We know what you're going through. And then Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala also mentions the prescription, how to deal with that tightness inside. And you can imagine, you know, what the Prophet
(ﷺ) experienced on hearing the kind of wrong things that the people would say about him constantly, calling him a magician, a liar, a soothsayer, so on and so forth. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala gives the prescription, which is
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ, that do tasbih of your Lord. And also, be of those who make sajdah and وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ, worship your Lord
until certainty, meaning death comes to you. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala hasn't just created us. He is intimately aware. His creation is with His mercy and with His care. And so He doesn't just,
you know, give us what we need for our bodies, but He also gives us what we need for our souls, for our hearts. You know, it's beautiful. I like how you touched on, you know, الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ, and you know, as they say in Arabic, زِيَادَةُ الْمَبْنَى تَدُلُّ عَلَى
زِيَادَةِ الْمَعْنَى. So if you were to increase a letter within the morphological makeup of a verb, so you have خَلَقَ and then you have خَالِق and then you have خَلَّاق — when you hold the intonation or you hold the syllable خَلَّاق, it shows more of a meaning, which could
be more of an intensity at the particular time or over a period of time. So when talking about Allah as the creator, you think about, okay, yes, He created the tree, but the elements within the tree, the psychology,
you know, what happens to the tree, how the wind — you mentioned, and it's interesting how you mentioned fertilizing winds. We just, you know, in Hajj, we're like, okay, this feels great. You don't realize that what happens to the leaves of the tree and the wind is what
Allah uses to even fertilize it. We're talking about organic foods and pesticides and insecticides. Well, the wind is there to protect everything that He's
created from the trees and the grass, etc.,
animals, all of us. You see how the whole ecosystem in and of itself. I remember when I was teaching my son ecosystems, he had — it was his homework years ago. I'm going to be honest, I never really knew that. So when I'm going over it, I'm
like, this — I said, SubhanAllah. He said, "What, Baba?" I said, just SubhanAllah. The process of creation, the passing of the seasons and how even snow — اللهم اغسلني بالماء والثلج والبرد.
The scholars talk about this, الماء والثلج والبرد. Even the cold weather is a form of purifying the air and the bacteria. If you look at the purpose of the cold and the sleet,
and it's so beautiful. And the Prophet (ﷺ) is saying that to purify his sins. Yani, SubhanAllah, Allah is Al-Khallaq and He's Al-'Alim as well because Allah Subhanahu
wa Ta'ala knows, you know, when you say these words, there is a cure. Although there's the difference — okay, if you were to read and do ruqyah on someone, is it something psychological? We don't want to get too much into that, but there is a relevance of reading the Quran
because Allah says, and we made from the Quran, ما هو شفاء, what is a cure? What is a cure for the problems we're facing? I'm stressed out. أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ, is it not with the remembrance of Allah that the
hearts find ease? So you'll find people, I'm stressed out, you know, have you mentioned the name of Allah? Have you sat alone and done dhikr? Have you thought about the manifestation of Allah in your life, particular name of Allah that deals with your particular situation? Because
Allah is well aware of what you're going through because He created it. He willed for it to happen, and He also gave you the remedy, but it's for you to search. It's for you to have that connection with Him. And it's so beautiful, you know, khalq and 'ilm are
two aspects of predestination, right? Khalq and 'ilm along with kitabah and mashi'ah, along with Allah writing it down and along with Him willing for it to happen. It's important that Muslims always recognize that everything that I'm facing, Allah has created it, but He's also given
me the remedy. And what will cause me to rush towards the remedy is my consistent connection with Him through, again, the means that He's created. Am I praying? Am I trying my best to pray? Am I setting my
alarm? I didn't wake up for Fajr this morning, but do I have the intention to wake up for it again tomorrow, after that, to go to the masjid? Have I read the Quran outside of Ramadan? Do I make intention this Ramadan, on this last 10-day stretch, I'm going to push
myself because Allah is well aware of what I'm going to do? So these two beautiful names and how Allah stresses Al-Khallaq here to show you, don't just look at the superficial aspects of creation, but the internal elements within it and then the actions that emanated from
it. I created it as well, and I'm well knowledgeable of it, and I'm well knowledgeable of its remedies, you included, يَا أَيُّهَا الْبَشَرُ, you know, you as human beings are included as well. So I think that's important for us to always remember through any encounter that we
face, Allah is well aware of it. Allah gives us the remedy for it, and Allah will reward us for our struggle to purify it. And you think about, SubhanAllah, the word خَلَقَ — الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ, like you go to Surah Al-Mulk, the one who created death
and life. No one thinks about death as a creation, right? Right. But Allah created the phenomenon of death. And of course, not to jump too far to Surah Al-Mulk, but there's a layer of wisdom even to starting with death, non-existence before existence. And then أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ
خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ, of course, the one who created knows. He knows it better. The manufacturer always knows the product better than anybody else, right? And we pass judgments on the Creator because of our limitations of
understanding the creation. We don't get it. And so therefore we say that there's a fault. No, اتَّهِمْ نَفْسَكَ, right? Like accuse yourself and say, I'm not getting it. I'm not seeing it. Something's wrong with my perception of this. It's not that it's off. It's that my
vision of it is off, right? So I think that with the — and even the creation of Adam (عليه السلام), you know, SubhanAllah, the story of Adam (عليه السلام) being created always shows up in the middle
of these surahs. And sometimes it seems out of place, and it's never out of place, of course. You know, Surah Al-Kahf, it comes out of, you know, nowhere. Surah Al-Isra, wait, it's here. Surah Al-Hijr. إِنِّي
خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا, right? I'm creating a human being from dirt. Wait, like why? Right? What's the purpose of this? Ibrahim (عليه السلام) and Sarah, why now? Like, you know,
you think about Allah creating in the womb, like why now, right? So Allah Azza wa Jalla's timing, His pace, His knowledge of it, His repetition of it, mm-hmm, all of the processes to maintain it, right? The creation within
the creation, SubhanAllah, it's an unbelievable encyclopedia on any creation. And even with that, we still don't know what Allah knows about it.
It's sort of like the Quran, which is the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. You read it and we can do tafsir. We could do Quran 30 for 30 for the next 60 years, you know? And Shaykh Abdul Nasir was like, "No." You know, but we could do Quran 30 for 30 every
year. You could read the Quran 60 times and you could do tadabbur and tafakkur 60 times, you know? Shaykha Taimiyyah, I'm sure you've taught it cover to cover how many times in your life you probably can't count. And every time it gives you something new. Absolutely. And
even with that, there's so much that you have yet to derive that Allah Azza wa Jalla has packed into that revelation that you don't see yet. And even with that, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions to us in Surah Al-Kahf, right, that even if the oceans were
ink and the trees were pens, right, you know, it still would not be enough to contain the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So just try with these 600 pages to extract, and you can extract for your entire life,
and you still would not have finished your extraction. So whether it's revelation or creation, الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ, like you just don't know everything that's packed within it. Right before the ayah إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ
الْعَلِيمُ, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions that He has not created the heavens and the earth except with the truth. And He tells us وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ, the hour is coming, فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ,
therefore, pardon graciously, you know, without showing anger, without retaliation. And that is only possible when you know that Allah
Subhanahu wa Ta'ala knows exactly what's going on, and He is going to establish perfect justice. Otherwise, it's not possible to forgive graciously.
And when you know that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala knows what is going on and that He is Al-Khallaq, He hasn't just created the creation once, but that He will resurrect and that promise is true, the hour
is true, then this is what brings us the consolation that we need in times that really don't make any sense to us. Absolutely. You know, SubhanAllah, the previous juz' is Yusuf
(عليه السلام) pardoning his brothers. Yes. Like, imagine if Yusuf didn't pardon his brothers. Would any of us look down upon him? No, we would be like, yeah, I mean, they didn't deserve to be forgiven. You know, we would say, none of us would, right? Like, continue
the story, finish the surah, go to — like, the story of Yusuf (عليه السلام), if it was merely a redemption of him surviving the plot and then being brought back to glory, would be a beautiful story in and of itself. But the fact that he chooses forgiveness and pardon,
even with that, and Ya'qub (عليه السلام) had to be with them for two decades and, you know, forgive them and pardon them with all that hurt, why would they do that except that they were looking for that from Allah سبحانه وتعالى? So may Allah عز وجل
open our hearts to understand, to forgive. تفضل شيخ. There's one point I just want to make, SubhanAllah, when you mention that. It's funny, Allah mentions the beginning of time and then the end of time, and then He gives an amr. Just, life is short. It's Ramadan.
You know, how many times do we say it's Ramadan? Send that text to that person. Ask how they're doing. The Islam is much bigger than the both of you. I remember one of my mentors said that when he had a problem with another mentor of mine, and I asked, he said, Islam is bigger than the both of us.
You know, let's overlook these faults. Let's keep moving. It's Ramadan, right? So Allah gives the beginning of time, the end of time, and then with this knowledge, فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ. Yani just overlook it. To forgive, don't forget, but let's move forward for the sake
of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, for the sake of الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ. جزاك الله خيرا. So send the text message so you can go into the last 10 nights of Ramadan bi-idhnillahi with an open heart, clean heart. بارك الله فيكم, Shaykh Abdullah, for the beautiful advice. جزاكم الله خيرا for
the beautiful tafsir, Shaykha Taimiyyah. We hope to have you on إن شاء الله in the future as well. إن شاء الله تعالى, we'll see you all tomorrow. والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته.
